"Sumipa" (the "App") is a macOS PDF workspace developed and provided by tezuka (the "Developer"). This policy explains how the App handles information.
1. The bottom line
- The App makes no internet calls. The only network use is local-network only: when you scan, it talks to scanners on your LAN to bring images in. Nothing is sent off your device.
- There are no analytics, tracking or advertising SDKs.
- The PDFs you open are processed entirely on your own Mac.
- There is no automatic crash-reporting mechanism.
2. App Store "App Privacy" declaration
In App Store Connect's "App Privacy" section, we declare the following:
| Item | Declaration |
|---|---|
| Do you collect data? | No |
| Third-party tracking | None |
| Advertising identifier (IDFA) | Not used |
3. Data the App stores on your Mac
So you can resume your work, the App stores the following on your own Mac. None of it is transmitted anywhere.
- PDFs added to the desk (copies) and memos (PDFs)
- Desk layout and folder structure (
workspace.json) - To-Do list items (including due dates)
- Custom stamps and style presets you create
Storage location:
~/Library/Containers/com.sumipa.app/Data/Documents/Sumipa/
(The To-Do list is also stored in .sumipa/todos.json inside that folder and in macOS UserDefaults —
both on-device only.)
You can remove this data from your Mac by uninstalling the App (follow the standard macOS app-removal steps).
4. macOS permission prompts
The App may ask your permission for the following purposes:
| Permission | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Controlling Mail / Outlook when you use "Send by email" | To hand the PDF to a new message as an attachment |
| Choosing where to open / save files in Finder | The App reads and writes only the folders you select |
| Reminders access | Only when you turn on To-Do list sync. Used to sync a "Sumipa" reminders list with the in-app To-Do list two-way. The synced content (title, completion state, due date) stays on-device and is never transmitted. |
All of these are requested only at the moment you take the corresponding action (Reminders only when you turn sync on; it is off by default). The App never acquires permissions in the background.
5. Children's information
The App is not intended to collect information from children. As stated above, it collects no information from anyone, regardless of age.
6. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will announce it on the App's distribution page and in the App Store release notes.
